Phil Davis, nicknamed “Mr. Wonderful,” was once one of the most outstanding MMA fighters in the world. He started his athletic career as a wrestler in school and later became an NCAA Division I champion with the Penn State team. Davis entered professional MMA, competed in the UFC, and made his mark with a 9–3 record, ranking among the top five in the Light Heavyweight division. He was renowned for his exceptional wrestling skills and created the “Mr. Wonderful” submission move, which received the Submission of the Year award. After his tenure in the UFC, Davis moved to Bellator, where he won the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship in 2016, solidifying his position as one of the sport’s legendary athletes.
Currently, Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis has transitioned away from competition; he is now a co-founder and advisor for VF555. With his extensive experience and reputation from his peak fighting career, Davis’s role at VF555 is expected to inspire and help develop the organization professionally and sustainably.
