Loving Boston

Hello! I am having a blast in Boston! The fans have all been amazing! I feel like a King over here! I had such a great time doing the Ustream for ufc.com, in case you missed it check it out at this link, please! http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/9183203

My schedule at the expo today is the Headrush booth from 11-1 and then the Dethrone booth from 2-4. As for my predictions, you can’t count Randy Couture out, so I think he’s going to pull this one off and beat James Toney. And I’m gonna have to go with Frankie Edgar in the main event, I think he can do it one more time.

Look for me at the Fan Expo, and in case you missed these pics on Twitter, these two guys were my favorite fans of the day yesterday!

Greetings from the East Coast

After my last fight, I decided to take some time off for myself and relax! So I headed to the place where that is easiest….home! I am back in Pennsylvania visiting my family and taking some time for myself before my busy weekend kicks off! But more on that later!

I always enjoy coming home because that means I get to spend time with my family, which is hard to do when I live in San Diego. Today I am heading to Penn State to get some wrestling in before I head to Boston, should be a great time!

Who’s going to the Fan Expo? If you live in that area, please come by! Yours truly will be doing interviews on the spot for UFC.com. I will be walking around the Expo with a camera crew talking to people…so if you’re there keep an eye out for me! Come by and show me some love! I am looking forward to being on the other side of an interview for once!

What’s up everyone? The week leading up to a fight is always a hectic time. Luckily I’ve been working with a great group of guys up here that it’s been as smooth as ever. I’m ready to go!

A lot has happened since my last post, I’m sad that I missed the fights in SD, but I heard they were great. I miss San Diego and my team at Alliance, but I’ve had a great time training at AKA.

A few days ago Jon Fitch and I made the drive to Oakland to sign all of the necessary papers with the Athletic Commission. I just can’t wait to get in the cage! Read the rest of this entry »

My next fight

I know it’s been awhile, and I apologize, but I’ve been mad busy! For the last few weeks I’ve been up at American Kickboxing Academy in Northern California training with Coach Javier Mendez. I’ve been working with two-time Olympian Daniel Cormier, Cain Velasquez, Bobby Lashley, Luke Rockhold and Jon Fitch. It’s been a great time!

In case y’all haven’t heard, I’ve taken a fight on short notice against Rodney Wallace. Stanislav Nedkov had to pull out from the fight, but his loss is my gain, and I am pumped to get back in the cage. Read the rest of this entry »

Autograph Signing-Miramar

Today myself, Brandon Vera and WEC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz are headed up to the Marine Corps Base at Miramar to do an autograph signing for the troops. I always enjoy talking with fans and the UFC opens up so many doors for fighters to give back to their communities, which means a lot to me. Marathon Training

On June 6, I’ll be running in San Diego’s Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon. If you’re in San Diego come and check it out! If you’re not, check back here for an update on how I did. I have been training for the last few months in between fight camps and I’m really looking forward to finally hitting the pavement. I’ve been running 40 miles a week, sometimes more. I’ve realized training for a marathon is a lot different than training for a fight. I don’t have my coaches and teammates to push me to the limit every day. All of it is self-motivation, luckily nothing motivates me more than music. Here’s one of the playlists I have been listening to while I run to get me pumped for the big race. Day 2 of the Expo

I’ve had an absolutely insane weekend! The expo has been so much fun. I’ve loved meeting every one of you guys, you all make it worthwhile. From 11-1 today I will be signing autographs and hanging out at the Dethrone booth again. If you didn’t stop by yesterday make sure to swing by today! Or if you did come by yesterday, come back! After that I’m going to rest up for a night of what’s sure to be great fights! What do you guys think about the main event? MGM Grand better watch out! I think there are going to be some fireworks! Make sure you swing by the Dethrone booth between 2-4 to see me! I’ll be there signing autographs. And then, from 4-6 you can find me at the Fight Factory booth. As you know the newest addition of UFC: Undisputed dropped a few days ago, the UFC and Mandalay Bay are hosting an official launch party from 8:30-10:30, lots of other fighters will be there including Forrest Griffin, Cain Velasquez, Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck and Mike Swick. If you haven’t already bought the game be sure to check it out! Hope to see you at the expo!
